A Great Turn On
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a ‘light switching on’ somewhere.
And the winner Is…
For the last 3 years I have presented ‘Sales Assistant of the Year Awards’ at the Dorchester in London and I can truthfully say it is a joy to be part of.
Happy Feet 2
It’s not often I go to Premiers but Happy Feet 2 I wouldn’t have missed for the world. Elijah Wood and Robin Williams were there to give Leicester Square, London some glitter. I took along Claudia Bovey, Tilly Lindsay (my Goddaughter) and her Mum Sally Mean.
Perfect Potting
Never happier than when wandering around a well-stocked garden centre (OK a Shoe Shop!) as we are at the end of planting season (please keep the frosts away) there are some good offers on I managed 20% off everything I bought.
Blue Peter Party
The Fresh Air of Autumn
We truly must be having one of the most beautiful Autumns on record.
Empty – But Not For Long!
My bottles have arrived from LakeLand and my Sloe’s are in the post from Nigel Davies in North Cornwall who I found on eBay.
Secret Santa
We are having a family get together this Christmas at ‘Turner Towers’ and because there are so many of us and present buying would end up ridiculously expensive we have decided to do a Secret Santa.
The lovely Lee Pearson
Wendy and I met up with champion horseman Lee Pearson – fellow “Stokie” and the winner of an astounding NINE Paralympic Gold Medals for Dressage.
Spanish Riding School
I went to see the Spanish Riding School of Vienna perform at Wembley Arena.
The perfect Thai green curry – at last!
I’ve cracked it! tried a few recipes and this has ended up the best for a quick homemade Thai Green Curry.
Spruce up
Now here is an odd but surprisingly tasty idea for winter.
What a Bright Idea!
I saw this idea of using baskets as shelves in a display in Pottery Barn.
A Sloe Search
Surfing around to find Sloe Berries to make Sloe Gin for Christmas. Will let you know when I’ve found berries and settled on best proportions of Gin to Berries to Sugar.
Make Your Own This Christmas
My sister Wendy, my friend Alice and I are doing some ‘make your own’ this Christmas.
Pimp Your Poppy
A trip to John Lewis’ Haberdashery Department soon gave my sister’s poppy the bling factor!

A Sparkling Night
This year November 5th was all a bit of a scramble but we celebrated by popping over to an organised display close to our house and the mulled wine (which was Sainsbury’s own) was delicious.
You Can’t Beat Betty!
Mum’s Birthday involved a lot of table decorating and cake making masterminded by my Nephews Jack and Freddy who were given a free range. If you are in a rush Betty Crocker gave to the world a box entitled ‘Devils Food Cake Mix’. Don’t feel bad about using it – the result is delicious and margin for error is vastly reduced.
You Make It Look So Easy
I’ve just discovered this newly published and beautifully illustrated domestic self help guide.
