Why have six pots in your cupboard when you can have one that does six things and probably more?

I developed BALM 6 after years of discovering what works and what doesn’t.

YOUR NEW SECRET BEAUTY WEAPON

This is my little miracle in a pot, a culmination of all my favourite natural ingredients combined by hand from me to you with love.

The 6 ways I use BALM 6:

CLEANSER & MAKE UP REMOVER

LIP BALM

EYEBROWS & EYELASHES

CUTICLES

FACE MASK

NOURISH HAIR

CLEANSER & MAKE UP REMOVER • LIP BALM • EYEBROWS & EYELASHES • CUTICLES • FACE MASK • NOURISH HAIR •

1. CLEANSER & MAKE UP REMOVER

BALM 6 is all I use to remove my makeup and the days grime. I rub a small amount (the size of an almond) into the palms of my clean hands. As the heat of my hands warms the mixture it quickly turns to an oil which I massage into my face. If you have the time don’t rush this process, massaging your face de-stresses, relaxes muscles and increases blood flow. Remove with a warm damp face cloth.

2. LIP BALM

Our lips chap and we need to protect them so a touch of BALM 6 will do the job. I have a little travel pot I decant a tiny amount into so always have it with me.

3. EYELASHES & EYEBROWS

For as long as I can remember I’ve put a tiny amount of Castor Oil on my eyelashes and eyebrows because when I was 10 a friend told me her mother did it and she had lovely lashes! Mascara dries them out as do curling solutions, false lashes and eyebrow lamination treatments. BALM 6 will give them all the nourishment they need.

4. CUTICLES

From a youngster I oiled my horses’ hooves to stop them drying out and splitting. I knew they were made of Keratin like my fingernails so it made perfect sense to treat us both the same. Which is why I’ve always oiled my cuticles, fingers and toes. BALM 6 will stop them from cracking, keep them hydrated, including the skin around your nail, also supporting new growth.

5. MOISTURISER & HYDRATING FACE MASK

As we age, our skin loses its bloom, wrinkles appear due to depleting collogen. Outside of ‘tweakments’ you can’t stop little lines, but you can soften them through topical moisturising. BALM 6 does just that. I put a thin layer over my face, leave it on for 15 mins or more if required, then remove with a tissue or damp facecloth. If I need an extra boost, I leave it on overnight. The ingredients have been chosen to reduce water loss, so you’ll wake up feeling fresh and moisturised. Balm 6 is also approved as day time moisturiser for dryer skin types.

6. NOURISH DRY HAIR

I use a hot hairdryer at least 4 times a week to smooth out my curly, frizzy hair. BALM 6 works as a fantastic hair serum on dry ends, I emulsify BALM 6 in my hands then run a little through my hair as needed. Occasionally your hair and scalp might need more, so sometimes in the evenings I apply it as a hair mask accordingly, sleep on a towel and shampoo off in the morning. Just remember with BALM 6 a little goes a long way.

So, what’s in this pot?

Ingredients

GRAPE

Protects and repairs skin, suitable for oily and sensitive skin.

CASTOR OIL

Contains ricinoleic acid which nourishes and supports hair growth by reducing breakage.

BALM 6 Aroma

The first thing you’ll do is open the pot and smell, this is what you’re experiencing:

LEMON GRASS

I’ve always been drawn to its cleansing aroma, it’s a popular aromatherapy oil that helps relieve stress, anxiety, and depression.

ROSEMARY

There are extensive studies on the effects of rosemary when inhaled many using the words clear and alert, which is why it is known as the herb of ‘remembrance’.

VANILLA

Who doesn’t like Vanilla? It’s a treat of an aroma known for its warmth, softness, purity and sweetness.

PRICKLY PEAR SEED OIL

Has a high content of linoleic acid which helps the skin retain its natural moisture promoting a healthy complexion.

SHEA BUTTER

Extracted from the nut of the African shea tree a moisturiser that softens dry skin.

Olive Oil

Contains Squalane often compared to hyaluronic acid with the added advantage of antioxidant properties. Also an excellent make up remover.

COCONUT OIL

Moisturises dry skin and hair, a natural way to protect the life of your hair which allows it to grow longer and thicker. The vitamins and essential fatty acids naturally found in coconut oil nourish the scalp and help remove sebum build up which is the oil and wax that comes from the sebaceous glands in your scalp.

COCOA BUTTER

Obtained from whole cocoa beans, high in fatty acids, I chose it for its ability to hydrate and nourish the skin improving elasticity. The fat in cocoa butter forms a protective barrier over skin to hold in moisture. Its oily texture makes it perfect to remove make-up.

CUCUMBER

Anti-inflammatory, calming, cooling and nourishing.

SEA MOSS POWDER

Antibacterial properties.

VIT -E

Excellent skin moisturiser.

WHY BALM 6?

BALM 6 had been going on in my mind for a while.

I’d had a good old clear out of the bathroom cupboards and between Mark and myself we’d so many lotions and potions all doing different things taking up room.

I actually said as joke “Can’t we just have one pot that does everything it would save so much money and space.

I spoke to a friend about my idea and she said, “I know a someone whose interested in products for the skin and she’s a chemist I think she could help”

Before I knew it, I was in Donna’s kitchen with a list of my favourite ingrediencies collected over the years.

That was last November and between then and now there’s been lots of samples pots, rejections but then we hit gold and BALM 6 was born.
